It’s finally here! No, not fall weather – the Soulshine Pizza Factory opening at Berry Farms! This Friday, October 21st, Soulshine will open their doors at 11:00 a.m. for lunch. Come by and check out their newest location in South Franklin across from Whit’s Frozen Custard and Berry Farms Dental.

Soulshine Pizza Factory was founded in February 2001 in Flowood, Mississippi by Chris Sartin, who now lives in Franklin. He added other locations in Ridgeland and Oxford, Mississippi and then in downtown Nashville on Division Street. Berry Farms was a perfect fit for his newest location. “I chose Berry Farms because it’s a soulful little place to be. It feels like an old town where people walk around to eat and drink and everyone knows each other.” We couldn’t agree more and Soulshine will only add to the ambiance and “bring some more soul to the table.”

Being a musician and a huge Allman Brothers fan, Chris named Soulshine after a song by that name on their eleventh album Where It All Begins. He says he always loved the song and thought it would be a tribute to his musical heroes. It certainly fits the atmosphere of his restaurants and the Soul-food inspired menu.  Yes there are stone baked pizzas and calzones with names like The Kitchen Sink, The BBQ Mississippian, and The Bob Marley – but there are also signature dishes like Billy Blue’s Red Beans & Rice, Homemade MS Delta Hot Tamales, Cream of Crawfish Soup, and Slap Yo’ Momma Bread Puddin’ for dessert. Now who doesn’t want to try those!?

We welcome Soulshine Pizza Factory to South Franklin and Berry Farms! They are still family owned and operated after all these years and the live music, artwork, great TVs for sports viewing and friendly faces give an undeniable family feel to what will soon be another of our favorite places to hang out and enjoy the slower pace that makes Berry Farms so special.  Join us this weekend and “Let’s Order Some Soulshine”!
